This is a collection of screens based upon ideas expressed by well-known legendary investors such as Warren Buffett, Peter Lynch, Ben Graham, etc. It's important, though, to recognize that the details are ours. Many of these all-star investors worked before computerized screening and ranking tools became widespread. Even those whose approaches were quantitative often refrained from disclosing the complete details of what they did. And qualitative judgment often contributed, sometimes very heavily, to their decisions. Nevertheless, each of the chosen all-stars articulated important investment principles which can and do serve as the core of screen-based models. Each of the screens in this section is used together with a rank named for the same all-star investor. It is possible to use the screens and ranks independently, to mix and match each with any other available screen or rank. However, the pairs (for example, the Graham screen and the Graham rank) represent complementary aspects of the all-star's ideas and were developed in order to be used together. For further information on our all-star models, see http://www.portfolio123.com/blog.jsp?postid=120 StockScreen123 Screens represent hypothetical or simulated performance, not actual trading. Since the trades have not actually been executed, the results may have under-or-over compensated for the impact of certain market factors such as liquidity. Returns may include a slippage amount for each trade. Dividends are not included. Remember that past returns are no guarantee of future returns.
